چکیده

BackgroundRepetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is an effective treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), but therapeutic benefit highly variable. Clinical improvement related to changes in brain circuits, which have preferred resonant frequencies (RFs) and vary across individuals.ObjectiveWe developed a novel rTMS-electroencephalography (rTMS-EEG) interrogation paradigm identify RFs using the association of power/connectivity measures with symptom severity outcome.Methods35 subjects underwent rTMS at 71 ranging from 3 17 Hz administered left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). rTMS-EEG was used assess resonance oscillatory (phase coherence [PC], envelope correlation [EC], spectral coefficient [SCC]) after each frequency. Multiple regression detect relationships between 10 baseline symptoms as well clinical sessions treatment.ResultsBaseline significantly associated SCC sensorimotor (SM; p < 0.0004), PC fronto-parietal (p = 0.001), EC centro-posterior channels 0.002). Subjects improved treatment. Only decreased SM (r 0.35, 0.04). whom ranked RF among all stimulation had better outcomes treatment.ConclusionsResonance measured correlated both Research should determine whether this can individualized frequencies.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for major depressive disorder: a review.

Several studies demonstrated that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an efficacious treatment for treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (TRD). Recent metaanalyses and more recent large multicentre studies provided evidence suggesting that rTMS is indeed a promising treatment; however, its efficacy has often been shown to be modest, compared with sham stimulation. We ...

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...

Effect of different frequencies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on acquisition of chemical kindling seizures in rats

IIntroduction: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) modulates the excitability of cortical neural networks. The effect of rTMS on excitability of cortical networks depends on its frequency. According to the previous reports, a distinction is made between low (<1Hz) and high frequencies of rTMS. Low frequencies of rTMS inhibit seizure but high frequencies increase it. In the curre...

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in the treatment of depressive disorder

This article deals with the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in the treatment of depressive disorder. The method involves influencing the brain using variable magnetic field. Repetitive TMS is safe, well-tolerated and has very few adverse effects. It is the treatment of depressive disorder where psychiatrists have most experience with this method which, however, is sta...

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for the treatment of major depressive disorder: an evidence-based analysis.

OBJECTIVE This review was conducted to assess the effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). THE TECHNOLOGY rTMS is a noninvasive way to stimulate nerve cells in areas of the brain. During rTMS, an electrical current passes through a wire coil placed over the scalp. The current induces a magnetic field that produce...
